ELITE Magazine 11 (01/10/2007 )

This issue of Elite Magazine marks – and modestly celebrates – the 20th anniversary of Elite Rent-a-Car.

I founded the agency in 1987 in Geneva with the intent to fill what was then a visible gap in the car rental market: make luxury cars available for hire, with the appropriate customised services, anytime and anywhere.

Since the very beginning, we have based our philosophy and our activities around five guiding principles:

  • Service: What more can we do to meet the needs of our customers?

  • Quality: How can we do what we do better and add greater value to our services?

  • Availability: Can we improve our availability towards our customers?

  • Respect: How can we better prove our consideration and admiration to our customers?

  • Responsibility: How can we best link our moral and intellectual obligations with our daily tasks and engagements, while accepting the consequences of our acts?
These five key elements have also created the basis on which we built the Elite European network, in more recent years.

I see my role in the company as the prime motivator to maintain our high standards, to protect and improve our image, and to provide exceptional vehicles and innovative concepts (such as the recently introduced Membership Card or the ad-hoc rally itineraries), thus being able to better meet the evolving mobility needs and enjoyment desires of all of our customers.

Over the years, Elite has grown and developed its core business, but the agency has also been a pioneer in trying to walk the talk of “social responsibility”, actively contributing to solidarity projects in Switzerland and around the world through the organization Friends of Humanity. FOH focuses on supporting educational, healthcare, environmental and human-rights projects. Our newest initiative, in Tibet, is described in this issue of the magazine.

I am convinced that positive thoughts and attitudes are the key factors that lead to improvements in our world, and that the actions we take based upon these motivations are those that make a real difference.

That’s the Elite philosophy. Bearing this in mind, I thank you and send you a message of friendship, tolerance and peace.
