Afghanistan

Creation of a Library in the Malalai High School

The Association of Afghan Women and Children (EFA) inaugurated the Malalai high school in 2003 at Anawa, in the Panjshir province.

The high school has already become an important educational center for the region, and the creation of a library is the next logical step to meet the local women's needs. The building was finished in October 2007, and Elite is currently sponsoring the acquisition of books to enable the completion of the project.

Sewing Workshop in Kabul
Initiated by the association of Afghan Women and Children (EFA) in 2002, the project of creating a sewing workshop in Kabul came to fruits in September 2003.

The enterprise was aimed primarily at Afghan widows who were in particularly precarious situations, and the objective was not only to provide them with a gainful employment, but also to offer them educational classes. By 2006 the operation had grown into three workshops functioning autonomously and providing employment for over 50 women.
